- Community Engagement
CreateTO and the City of Toronto held a third community meeting in an online format for the Housing Now site at 705 Warden Avenue on Wednesday, May 13. This was the first virtual public meeting hosted by CreateTO and the City, and approximately 250 participants joined the Online Information Session to learn more about the updated development concept for the site.
Mayor John Tory and Ward 20 Councillor Gary Crawford joined CreateTO staff and representatives from City Planning, the Housing Secretariat, TTC and the facilitation team, Swerhun Inc., to answer questions from the community, which focused on density, amenities planned for the area, parking, safety and affordable housing.
Mayor Tory and Councillor Crawford highlighted the importance of achieving balance within the development, while emphasizing the effort to create as much affordable housing on the site as possible.
The meeting was hosted on Webex, and community members were able to join online or by telephone to listen in or ask questions. Pre-meeting materials, including a video and discussion guide, were available online for community members to view and download prior to the meeting.
If you weren’t able to join the meeting, a recording is available here. A meeting summary will also be posted online within the coming weeks.
