On June 14, CreateTO CEO Vic Gupta joined Mayor John Tory, Councillor Cynthia Lai and Deputy Mayor Michael Thompson to announce a new City of Toronto long-term care (LTC) home to be built at 4610 Finch Avenue East in Scarborough.
Depending on the configuration, this new LTC home will house between 336 and 365 residents, helping to reduce wait times and address the needs of Toronto seniors who need access to long-term care.
CreateTO, in partnership with the City’s Seniors Services and Long-Term Care (SSLTC) division, identified the land for the location of the new home. CreateTO is currently exploring opportunities for co-location on the site, which may include an adult day program, community hub or paramedic post.
The home is slated to open in 2026. The procurement process for the project design is under way.
