Located in the Rosedale neighbourhood adjacent to Budd Sugarman and Severn Creek parks, 931 Yonge Street is one of eight high-value City-owned sites selected through the ModernTO program for city-building purposes. ModernTO is designed to modernize the City’s office portfolio, reduce the City’s office footprint, and free up underutilized properties for city-building purposes.

This property is proposed to be repurposed as a mixed-income, mixed-use, 32-storey high-rise development that will accommodate 250 new homes, including affordable ownership housing, and enhanced public realm opportunities, while fostering sustainability. By unlocking this space, we are able to engage with the community to hear their needs and feedback and work to make the area more liveable and inclusive for its surrounding community. CreateTO and the City of Toronto held several community engagement activities in 2022 and 2023.

The site at 931 Yonge Street currently houses the head office for the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC).
