CreateTO’s 2022 Highlights Report

CreateTO joined ULI Toronto members and HousingNowTO on a tour of transit-oriented developments in Etobicoke, stopping at Bloor-Kipling and the Housing Now site at 5207 Dundas Street West, which is currently under construction and will deliver 725 new rental homes, including 218 new affordable rental homes. The project will also include retail uses, public spaces for community gatherings and events, and will be serviced by District Energy, supporting the City of Toronto's climate action objectives.

CreateTO's CEO Vic Gupta and Chief Development Officer Michael Norton joined the 2024 Land and Development Conference to highlight affordable housing and transit-oriented development, two key topics CreateTO works to drive forward.

Tasked with managing one of North America’s largest and most valuable real estate portfolios, CreateTO is unlocking the potential of Toronto’s City-owned lands to be activated for the public good.

On April 10, 2024, the City of Toronto held a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Etobicoke Civic Centre (ECC) at 3755 Bloor Street West. As a new state-of-the-art civic hub, the new ECC will feature more than 508,000 square feet of accessible public-facing space including municipal office towers, a multi-purpose council chamber, a child care centre, a new Toronto Public Library branch, a public health clinic for dental services and breastfeeding, a fully equipped recreation centre, ceremonial rooms, public meeting rooms, an art gallery and retail spaces, all leading out to an open civic square with a Sacred Fire Vessel and two-level parking.
