CreateTO works with Infrastructure Institute at the School of Cities, University of Toronto to find new and innovative solutions on co-locating emergency service facilities in mixed-use buildings and the use of public sector real estate. We’re happy to share that a panel exhibit that highlights Toronto as a leader in the implementation of mixed-use buildings is currently on display at Metro Hall by the Infrastructure Institute, School of Cities.
In this display, there are five mixed-use proposals that bring together public, private and non-profit uses in creative ways, one of which we’ve partnered with the Infrastructure Institute on for Fire Station 313, located at 441 Bloor Street East, to explore co-location of additional uses, including housing and community services.
The exhibit will be on display in Metro Hall until Friday, February 2, 2024. If you don't have an opportunity to check it out, there are also details available online here.
CreateTO joined ULI Toronto members and HousingNowTO on a tour of transit-oriented developments in Etobicoke, stopping at Bloor-Kipling and the Housing Now site at 5207 Dundas Street West, which is currently under construction and will deliver 725 new rental homes, including 218 new affordable rental homes. The project will also include retail uses, public spaces for community gatherings and events, and will be serviced by District Energy, supporting the City of Toronto's climate action objectives.

Tasked with managing one of North America’s largest and most valuable real estate portfolios, CreateTO is unlocking the potential of Toronto’s City-owned lands to be activated for the public good.
