Villiers Island Public Meeting

*Villiers Island has been renamed to Ookwemin Minising.

CreateTO, together with the City of Toronto and Waterfront Toronto, will be hosting a public meeting on Monday, June 19th to discuss the future development of Villiers Island and how best to increase density in this new waterfront community.

Villiers Island is the first new community to be developed in the Port Lands, creating opportunities to build more housing, including affordable housing, along with surrounding green spaces and parks. This is made possible due to the Port Lands Flood Protection as it opens 240 hectares of underused land to be developed.

Most of the land on Villiers Island is publicly owned, meaning there is a real opportunity to build more homes and provide better housing for Torontonians. Together with our partners at the City and Waterfront Toronto, we’re exploring different ways of adding housing.

Join us at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 19. Learn more and register for the virtual public meeting here: Villiers Island Public Meeting.
