Project Overview

The site of Scadding Court Community Centre and Sanderson Library presents an opportunity for redevelopment and revitalization, expanding services to the community and creating housing to serve the surrounding community.

In 2018, City Council approved a motion to support further investigation of the site redevelopment potential. CreateTO procured a consultant, and a study was performed for the site. In 2023, CreateTO brought together all stakeholders to determine desired City outcomes, which included the exploration of housing opportunities above community infrastructure. We undertook work to better understand the opportunity by exploring density, financials and potential equity non-profit partners.

In 2025, an Official Plan Amendment was approved by Council, opening the opportunity for the site to support housing development in the future.

CreateTO is now leading the work to support re-zoning and redevelopment of the site.
