Project Overview
Alterra Group of Companies and Mahogany Management have been selected to develop the site at 777 Victoria Park Avenue into a new mixed-use hub connecting Victoria Park station to the Danforth and aims to serve and enhance the diverse community of Scarborough Southwest.
The two-acre site will be transformed from a TTC commuter parking lot into residential, including 705 new rental homes, with 256 affordable rental units and 449 rent-controlled market homes, retail, a new child care centre, a new publicly accessible open space, community facilities, and improvements to the public realm.
777 Victoria Park Avenue is a project part of the Housing Now Initiative to invest in City-owned lands across Toronto for the development of affordable housing within mixed-income, mixed-use, transit-oriented communities.
Today, Mayor Olivia Chow was joined by the Honourable Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, Julie Dabrusin, Member of Parliament for Toronto-Danforth and Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik (Spadina-Fort York) to announce federal commitments to build more homes and address homelessness in Toronto.
The Victoria Park Avenue project is coming together through a partnership between CreateTO and its development partners: Alterra Group of Companies and Mahogany Management. Down the line, the site will accommodate 705 new rental homes — including 256 affordable rental units and 449 rent-controlled market homes.
