The Bloor-Kipling (Six Points) site, now under construction, will contribute to advancing several of the City’s key public policy goals including the delivery of affordable housing, helping to meet Toronto’s climate action targets and adding to the overall health and well-being of the surrounding community.
The City of Toronto’s investment in demolishing the Six Points Interchange unlocked 18 acres of new City-owned land for the evolution of Etobicoke Centre as a vibrant, mixed-use, transit-oriented community.
The site, which totals 17.91 acres, includes seven land parcels. Blocks 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7, were identified as development parcels for housing, Block 4 is the location of the new Etobicoke Civic Centre (ECC), and Block 2 will be a future City park.
In total, the five residential development blocks will include ~2,700 homes, ~900 of which will be affordable rental homes. The entire Bloor-Kipling site will be serviced by a District Energy plant with heating and cooling needs to be provided by a low-carbon thermal district energy network.
Bloor-Kipling's mix of residential, office, and institutional uses will be enhanced with a rich network of open spaces and parkland to create a dynamic community.
